5. Why did you choose your instrument / Pourquoi avez-vous choisi cet instrument ?
As an Asian I'm stereotypically supposed to play either the violin or the piano. I didn't really like the piano that much so I picked up the violin.
6. What are your professional goals? / Décrivez quelques-unes de vos ambitions professionnelles.
I'm still trying to decide a major in my studies but I'm considering psychology economics and physics at this point. I am intending to pursue a minor in music.
9. How do you feel you will benefit from participation in the NYOC? / Comment pensez-vous que votre participation à lONJC puisse vous aider?
In my previous two times with the NYOC I immensely enjoyed the training tour and being around other extremely enthusiastic classical musicians. I also think that it will improve my orchestral playing and understanding of symphonic repertoire.
What are your interests outside classical music / Avez-vous d’autres intérêts à part la musique classique ?
I enjoy philosophy - pondering the nature of existence is very interesting. I also like blogging reading and learning about the latest advances of science. Sometimes I read Wikipedia for hours. In terms of physical activity I enjoy running and swimming.

If you weren't touring with the NYOC what would you be doing with your summer? / Si vous ne faisiez pas partie de l' ONJC que feriez-vous cet été?
I would be attending the Princeton in Beijing language camp. They say that people cry because it's extremely hardcore; it's so intense in fact that it's been nicknamed "Prison in Beijing". In lieu of this I decided to enjoy another summer of NYOC.
What is there about you that you think people might be surprised to know? / Y a-t-il quelque chose à votre propos qui est un peu surprenant ou hors de l’ordinaire?
If not for the Chinese Civil War my last name would actually be "Bear" (qŠ). My biological grandfather had to flee to Taiwan for political reasons in 1949 so my dad adopted my grandmother's name instead (Wang - s‹).
For returning members: What is your fondest memory from a previous session and/or tour? / Pour participants vétérans: Quels sont vos souvenirs préférés de la session ou tournée précédente de l' ONJC?
Montréal! I loved being in this city both in 2007 and 2009. The Notre-Dame basilica has amazing acoustics the food (blue cheese baguettes and crêpes) is fantastic and... did I mention that I'm 18?
