Camille Churchfield is the newest member of the flute faculty at the University of Ottawa after having served as Principal Flutist of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for 29 years. Camille’s training includes study with the pre-eminent British flutist William Bennett, as well as earlier work in California with Paul Renzi, Roger Stevens and Julius Baker.  She was a long-time faculty member at the University of British Columbia and continues to maintain a private teaching studio, coach chamber and orchestral groups, and serves on the faculty in the summer at Domaine Forget Music Academy and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Camille’s creative musicianship and luminous tone have earned the respect of audiences across the country.  She appeared as a concerto soloist for nearly every season while in Vancouver, as well as with other Canadian orchestras and she has performed with the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, Scotia Festival, as well as with an array of Vancouver chamber music groups. She has been Guest Principal with the Seattle Symphony, toured with the Toronto Symphony, and enjoyed summers with the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra. She now performs frequently with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Camille holds a B.A. in Psychology.
