Christine Guptill is a registered occupational therapist and post-doctoral fellow at McMaster University. She is also Assistant Professor in the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University, where she teaches the only university credit course in Health and Music Performance in Canada. She holds concurrent bachelors degrees in Biology and Music Performance (oboe) and a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from Western, as well as a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University. Dr. Guptill's program of research focuses on musicians health. She has published several peer-reviewed articles on the subject of musicians health, and has presented her findings at health professional, music educator, and research conferences internationally. She is an active member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA), and was the recipient of PAMA's 2011 Brandfonbrener Young Investigator's award.

Dr. Guptill has been presenting injury prevention workshops with NYOC since 2007. These workshops are unique to NYOC, and Dr. Guptill has applied for funding through the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) to support ongoing evaluation of their effectiveness for members. She and Executive Director Barbara Smith presented Part 1 of the evaluation study at the PAMA regional conference in Toronto in 2012, and will present these findings again at the worldwide symposium in July.

Dr. Guptill is a freelance oboist in London, Ontario. She performs regularly with the Concert Players Orchestra, which accompanies Fanshawe Chorus London and the Gerald Fagan Singers.
