The NYOC would like to take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of the many alumni who rose to The Challenge and helped us raise over $31,000.00 as part of our recent Great Alumni Challenge campaign.
Earlier this fall, a generous donor offered to match, dollar for dollar, any alumni donation up to a maximum of $10,000. With an alumni base over 3,000 musicians strong, we were determined to meet this goal!
When the call for support went out to alumni across the globe - we were amazed at the response. Donations poured in from around the country with the highest numbers of donations coming from our newest alumni, the 2011 orchestra!
Our gift matching donor was so impressed with the out-pouring of support from NYOC alumni that they have agreed to recognize every contribution made to the challenge, even beyond the original pledge of $10,000!
This means that for every dollar that was donated above and beyond our original goal – we continued be to be matched dollar for dollar!
The final alumni challenge tally as reported on January 17th, 2012 is
$31,055.00
